NCSY in SeattleNCSY fall programs$36 to put up a regular Succah, $50 for a larger one. Take down can also be scheduled for an additional $36. e-mail thehoffather@aol.com to schedule a time slot on Sunday October 12th. Alternate dates are subject to availability. Sephardic Religious SchoolThe Sephardic Religious School is a supplementary school co-sponsored by Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation, Congregation Ezra Bessarot and the SAMIS Foundation to provide Jewish education to those families who do not choose Day School Jewish education. These congregations represent those Jewish families who have immigrated to Seattle from Turkey, Greece, Morocco, Rhodes and Spain. Sephardic Religious School is the only "Sephardic" school serving the Greater Seattle Jewish Community. (The Seattle Sephardic community is the third largest in the United States.) The Sephardic Religious School utilizes the Stroum Jewish Community Center classrooms and serves the children of both synagogues as well as families with other synagogue affiliations or no synagogue affiliation. Our Sephardic culture is a rich culture that goes back in history over five hundred years. It is imperative that the Sephardic Religious Scholl transmit to our future generations its rich culture and heritage. Our purpose is to educate our children in Sephardic culture through a dual curriculum - Judaic Studies and Hebrew - and enrichment programming. The dual curriculum and enrichment programming helps the children to develop an appreciation for the rich heritage they will carry on. We continue to supplement the parents, as the child's primary Jewish educator and utilize parents as resources that can contribute to our children's Jewish education at school. Our Sephardic Religious School High School Youth Program (SASSY) provides our Sephardic High Scholl youth with an opportunity to help them grow and associate within our traditional Sephardic Judaism. The Sephardic High School Youth Program serves Sephardic High School youth by providing social and educational opportunities regardless of affiliation and level of religious observance and welcomes other Jewish High School youth in the Greater Seattle area. Sephardic Adventure Overnight Camp - SACThis overnight camp experience has been the cooperative effort of both Sephardic synagogues, for over forty years. For at least ten days during the summer over 60 children participate in a rich Sephardic experience in an Orthodox setting. Children make friendships that last a lifetime, and for years talk about the meaningfulness of this yearly, well-attended event.

Eastside transportation and breakfast are provided. The day camp provides daily outing to many Northwest beautiful sites and fun activities to the three age groupings called: Turkish Tykes, Rhodes Rascals and Super Spaniards. |
